Make Your LPA TodayWhat is a Lasting Power of Attorney?
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you appoint one or more trusted persons — called donees — to make decisions on your behalf if you lose mental capacity due to illness, accident, or age-related conditions like dementia.
Without an LPA, your family would need to apply to the Court for a Deputyship Order under the Mental Capacity Act — a process that is significantly more expensive, time-consuming, and emotionally draining.
Making an LPA while you are well is one of the most caring things you can do for your family. It gives them clear authority to manage your affairs — your property, finances, and personal welfare — without legal limbo.
We come to you. Johnathan personally conducts house-call sessions for LPA signing, so you don't have to travel. This is especially valued by elderly clients and their families.
It's not just for the elderly
Parents & Caregivers
If something happens to you, who manages your finances and makes medical decisions? An LPA ensures your children and dependents are protected.
Business Owners
Your business doesn't stop if you become incapacitated. An LPA ensures your donee can manage business accounts, sign documents, and keep operations running.
Property Owners
Own property in your sole name? Without an LPA, nobody can sell, mortgage, or manage it on your behalf without a court order.
Ageing Adults
With dementia affecting 1 in 10 seniors in Singapore, making an LPA early ensures your wishes are respected when you need it most.
Frequent Travellers
If you're often overseas, an LPA gives your donee the authority to handle urgent financial or medical matters in your absence.
Couples Planning Ahead
Spouses often assume they can automatically act for each other — they can't. An LPA formalises that authority legally.
Your LPA in four simple steps
Initial Consultation
We discuss your wishes, explain the options (Form 1 vs Form 2), and help you choose your donees and replacement donees. This can be done in person or by phone.
Document Preparation
We prepare the LPA instrument based on your instructions and arrange the certificate issuer appointment — a qualified person who verifies you understand what you're signing.
Signing & Certification
You, your donee(s), and the certificate issuer sign the LPA. We offer house-call signing — we come to your home, office, or any convenient location.
OPG Registration
We submit the completed LPA to the Office of the Public Guardian for registration. The process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks. You'll receive confirmation once registered.
"I've watched families paralysed because no one had the legal authority to act"
During the time I spent assisting in my family's funeral business, I saw families who couldn't access a parent's bank account to pay for medical bills. Spouses who couldn't sell the family home to fund nursing care. Children who had to spend months and thousands of dollars in court, just to do what their parent would have wanted.
An LPA takes less than a day to arrange. Without one, your family could face months of legal proceedings and significant financial cost. The choice is straightforward.

LPA FAQs
What happens if I don't make an LPA?
If you lose mental capacity without an LPA, your family must apply to the Court for a Deputyship Order — a process that can take months and cost significantly more. During this time, nobody has legal authority to manage your affairs.
Who can I appoint as my donee?
Anyone aged 21 and above who is not an undischarged bankrupt. You can appoint up to two donees to act jointly, jointly and severally, or in specific areas. You should also appoint a replacement donee.
Can I revoke my LPA later?
Yes, you can revoke your LPA at any time as long as you still have mental capacity. We can assist with the revocation process and help you make a new LPA if your circumstances change.
What's the difference between Form 1 and Form 2?
Form 1 grants general powers and is the most common and affordable option. Form 2 lets you customise specific powers and add restrictions — useful for complex financial situations or specific care preferences.
Is there a government fee?
The Singapore government has permanently waived the OPG registration fee for Form 1 LPAs for Singaporeans. Our fees are separate and cover the legal advice, preparation, certification, and signing.
Do both my spouse and I need separate LPAs?
Yes — each person needs their own LPA. However, we offer couple discounts when both spouses make their LPAs together.
How long does the process take?
The preparation and signing can be completed within 1 to 2 weeks. OPG registration typically takes 3 to 6 weeks after submission.
